I just got back from the optometrist. I went before my normal yearly appointment because I’ve been having eye strain headaches. For the second time since starting a Paleo diet, my eyesight has actually improved! Not super dramatically, but enough to warrant two new prescriptions in 9 months. The mild astigmatism I used to have is completely gone; the focusing issues I used to have that warranted a prism in my lenses is completely gone; and my eyes are better by half a point compared to a year ago. I cannot say with certainty that all of the credit goes to my healthier diet (anti-inflammatory and rich in vitamins and antioxidants!), but I strongly suspect that is why. My eyesight is so much better than my optometrist actually suggested I go retake the driving eye exam so that I am no longer restricted on my driver’s license! Too cool!
