I would like to welcome and introduce you to the newest member of, geez, still not sure what to call it… I guess I’m going with The Team. Yeah, Team is good. Anyway, The Team has grown because, once again, I hit the point where more help was needed if I had even a hope of keeping up with creating good content for the blog, connecting with and helping people through blog comments, e-mails and social media, the podcast, and both books all in my spare time (read during preschool and after my kids go to bed) while I do my best to raise a family and protect my own health. So, I am pleased to introduce you to Christina Feindel. You might recognize Christina as one of the blogger volunteers who has been helping me answer my e-mails for almost a year. She is smart as a whip and sharp as a tack (and apparently I’m channeling my great uncle Alex right now), talented (as a blogger and as a graphic designer), passionate and emotionally invested in the paleo movement. I am super excited that Christina has agreed to be my newest assistant (meaning person without whom everything would fall apart). So, without further adieu, here is Christina!
My familiarity with The Paleo Mom and experience with the autoimmune protocol go back about a year before Sarah and I met. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and Celiac disease in my early twenties, after more than ten years of increasingly debilitating symptoms. After I was diagnosed, I started taking thyroid hormone and I quit eating gluten, but my symptoms continued. Wanting to know why my treatment wasn’t working and what I could do about it, I started looking for other patients that had faced and overcome similar health problems.
Sarah’s site was a blessing. I was vegan at the time, but I had already begun to suspect that I had serious problems with grains, beans, and nuts. Sarah’s research gave me the “why” I had been looking for, and her success story was inspiring. I adopted the autoimmune protocol and gradually reclaimed my health. When mutual friend Mickey Trescott (thanks, Mickey!) introduced me to Sarah, I was over the moon to be invited to volunteer with Team Paleo Mom and to have the opportunity to pay back some of the immense good Sarah’s work had done me. I never imagined it could get better than that!
I am so thrilled to be working with Sarah and Tamar, who are both wonderful people, and I am really looking forward to connecting with all of you! Last week I only knew a few people I could geek out about Sarah’s upcoming book with. Now I know thousands! I’m sure we’re all going to continue to learn a lot more great stuff from Sarah in the future, and I am so excited to be sharing the journey with all of you.
You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’m also on Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. I currently share autoimmune protocol recipes at A Clean Plate, and have worked as a patient advocate with Hashimoto’s 411 in the past.
