TPM Tidbit: Announcing a GIVEAWAY!
September 19, 2012 in Giveaways, TPM Tidbits
This contest is now closed.
Congratulations to Ruth!
I have decided to celebrate fall with my first The Paleo Mom giveaway! I feel like lots of great things are happening in my life right now (like the success of the blog with almost 5000 likes on Facebook and almost 1000 Twitter followers, the success of The Paleo View podcast, my husband getting a new grant, my daughter loving kindergarten, some great feedback on some of my recent recipes (like Prefect Paleo Pancakes and Plantain Crackers!), some exciting potential new projects, and me finding time for more activity/workouts which is making me feel awesome). This giveaway is a way for me to share some of my joy with you!
You’re probably noticed that I am a big fan of Tropical Traditions. I love their Gold Label Coconut Oil, dried coconut products, coconut cream concentrate, red palm oil, and palm shortening (all ethical, sustainable and organic). They sell my favorite chocolate for cheaper than anywhere else I have found. I also like their grass-fed meat (although I wait until they offer ground shipping in the cooler weather to stock up). And I’m starting to experiment with their soaps and cleaners. So, to share my enjoyment of their products…
I am going to give away a $75 gift certificate to Tropical Traditions to one lucky reader!
(Sadly, you won’t be able to combine this with coupons or free shipping offers. Also sadly, this giveaway only applies to those of you who can order from www.TropicalTraditions.com. I’ll have to get the rest of you with the next giveaway!)
I’m not a big fan of giveaways that require you to do a bunch of work before you can enter. So, I’m keeping this one simple. All I am asking is that you share and/or connect in whatever way makes sense for you. Please, do at least one of the following:
- If you are on Facebook, Twitter and/or Pinterest, please like/follow me. Even better, please share your favorite post or recipe with your friends (tag me because I’d love to know what your favorites are!).
- If you aren’t plugged into social media, please consider signing up for my RSS feed (which means my blog posts will be emailed to you).
- Share or post a comment on your favorite post or recipe.
- Tell your friends and family about www.thepaleomom.com
Now that you’ve shared and/or connected, simply leave a comment on this post and let me know how you shared.
One winner will be chosen at random from the commenters below.
Make sure to include your email so that I can contact the winner.
This contest will close in one week.

Congrats on the success! My favorite recipe is the pancakes… Sooo excited to have an awesome Paleo pancake recipe! Thanks
I like you on Facebook and Pinterest! I’ve loved your lunch ideas for your kindergartner. My husband loves the containers!
I liked you on FB, and i have also told several people about this website recently. My husband and I are opening up a crossfit gym, and we are always looking for good information to share!!!
Shared the perfect paleo pancakes. This is the receipe that I think has my kids sold…finally!!!
I’ve told 3 people about you that I knew would be interested and they are hooked like me! I will keep sharing the word to others as they begin to ask questions (I find that’s the best way – when the students are ready….)
I follow you on FB.
I’m following on twitter, FB and pinterest! Plus I listen to the Paleo View every week if that counts?
Thanks for all you share and do!
How exciting!! I have been following you on Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest and have been sharing your yummy recipes! Keep up the great work!!
I follow you on twitter
I’m following you on pinterest and have pinned some of your recipes as well! My e-mail is cherryontop3@yahoo.com.
I follow you on all 3 social media sites you mentioned! And I’m loving the podcasts – keep them coming!
I love your site and recipes! As a paleo mom myself, you really give me great ideas and food to feed my family.
I already liked you on Facebook and I am now following on Pinterest. I saw the plantain flour tortilla recipe link on “Things I’m thinking about” and am hoping you can figure out how to make it with fresh plantains. I’m a paleo granny and often share your posts with paleo moms I know. P.S. I love Tropical Traditions, too. You’ve got to try their cinnamon tooth cleaner, and I like the deodorant very much, too.
I’m following you on Twitter – and have shared your website with my friends!
I follow you everywhere!!!! Loved the pancakes…so-so on the plantains, but I blame the oil. It wasn’t tropical traditions coconut oil, and I’m starting to think that makes a difference in how my recipes come out!
I’m a Facebook fan. So far my favorite recipe is the pancakes. I also subscribe to your podcast and, while I’m not your target audience, enjoy it.
I’ve asked everyone on FB to follow your FB page! Love it!
I already liked your FB page and was subscribed to the RSS feed, but have also now followed you on Pinterest and Twitter. And your recipes are awesome! I’m going to get plaintains next time I’m at the store to try the perfect pancakes. My email is sarahewelsh@gmail.com
I like you on facebook and am subscribed to your RSS feed.
I’m following you on Facebook, podcasts, pinterest… you have helped me so much explain to our little world what we are doing and also to keep a family with 4 very young children happy through days/weeks of transitioning. Thanks so much!
Congratulations on hitting 5k! I already follow you on Facebook and Pinterest and just followed you on Twitter too (btw the Twitter link in your post needs a http:// in front). I tell my husband how awesome your AI articles are all the time. Usually, I just get a “that’s nice dear” but hey, it’s something! I don’t have any Paleo friends yet so that’s all the audience I have. Even though it’s not on this list, I also gave you and Stacey 5*’s on iTunes. You have really helped me commit to the AI protocol, I was waffling but your WHY posts help me stay on track. Thanks!
The paleo granola is delicious! Nice idea using the pepitas. I had some in my pantry and didn’t know what to do with them.
Plugged into all of your social media including the great podcasts! And one friend in particular gets sent your posts all of the time as we talk about her medical issues!
I’ve just joined pinterest and pinned your kelp noodle soup recipe. Thank you so much for your hard work!

I’ve liked you on Facebook.
I shared the sweedish meatballs! Yum!
I follow your blog in my reader
Followed you on twitter. Even though I’ve been following a paleo diet for about two years, I just recently found you. (What?! What’s my problem?!) Anyway, I’ve determined that I need to try out the auto-immune protocol and the AI information I’ve found on your site has been invaluable. Thanks!
I tell all my patients about your website for the nutritional info and recipes (I’m an acupuncturist) and am already subscribed to your feed and like your Facebook page. Thanks for all your work!
I shared your explanation of the AI protocol.
I subscribe to your RSS feeds and have shared many of your recipes with others. Thanks!
I like you on Facebook and Pinterest. I really enjoyed the last post you did about why exercise is important. Sometimes it’s nice to have one more reason to get the hiney out the door.
I also enjoyed the kids lunch ideas. I am so thankful I came across your blog.
Hi Sarah — I’ve liked you on Facebook for a while, so today I visited your Pinterest page. Found so many great things there! You were the one who inspired me to finally begin the AIP diet, and I have been on it for almost 3 weeks, and am feeling great! I suffer from psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, although with exercise and a switch to basic paleo, my joint pain went away. Now I’m trying to heal my skin (and GUT!), and thanks to you, I just might do it…LOVE your blog! Thanks for what you do!
Love your nut free bread. Son has IBS and he can eat as much as he wants w/o any problems. I’ve been carb reduced for many years due to boarder line diabetic. Numbers have been creeping up and doc threatened putting me on meds. So I went Paleo 3 months ago and my numbers are now perfect! I found your website 2 months ago and have used several of your recipes and have loved them all! Thanks so much, I LIKED you on FB.
Kathleen L.
i follow you on pinterest (rbynmyrs) and twitter (same). i’ve really been enjoying the podcasts! FYI your twitter link in this post does’t work
I liked you on FB. I am inspired by your recipes. Shared the meatballs with sauce recently. Used the sauce for a coleslaw also BTW. I have three young kids so the lunch ideas etc are really great. Ever have any luck ormstudies about Paleo and Sleep Apnea? My 8 year old has it,mtonsillectomy and adenoidectomy havent helped so she is gluten and dairy free, slowly moving more towards paleo which is how i live. Thanks so much for helping us be healthy!
My daughter’s sleep apnea is slowly decreasing with full paleo (taking out dairy seemed to help, but it might hve just been the time of year). For her, it seems to be a combination of rhinitis, allergies, acid reflux, sleep position and a malformation in her larynx. Paleo seems to help with the allergy and reflux side, but we still see more apnea when she had a cold or eats something unusual.
Have you thought about chiropractic care or acupressure? I’ve found that acupressure by a licensed acupuncture physician can really make a difference – mine helped my son when he had terrible food poisoning. Not the same as sleep apnea but both can help many issues.
Thanks so much for your science based blog. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your recipes. If only my husband would get on board… He refuses to give up his raisin bran (shudder) and therefore doesn’t really support me in transitioning the kids to Paleo even though I’ve been Paleo for three years. I’ll have to forward your page to him Maybe he’ll read it!
I just commented on the pancakes (which are truly perfect!). Thanks for the opportunity to enter and for your detailed, fascinating work here.
I’m following you on Facebook.
I love your blog so very much! My favorite post so far was the one written for the reluctant partner ie: my hubby! He went paleo for a week and loved it! I am connected through your RSS feed and I also “like” you on FB.

Hello! I like you on facebook and follow you on pinterest. I also shared your ‘modifying paleo for psoriasis’ post on facebook, and talked to my mother about it. Oh, and I’ve mentioned you twice in my new blog. (:
I follow you on pinterest and facebook!

Thanks
I follow you on facebook and pinterest, and listen to the paleo view weekly. I love your recipes and have pinned several. I especially liked the lunch box ideas and accompanying pictures, and it has been very helpful for me as a single mom. My son is at his Dads half the time and eats garbage there. I want to thank you for the exciting recipes and I will be buying some plaintains this week. Thanks for all the hard work you do, making it easier for all of us trying to get it right. My friends are also following you as well as I share your recipes with them.
Hi! I have really been enjoying you blog – I found it a week or 2 ago. I’m following you on FB and commented on your porridge recipe. Which I need to stop making so frequently!
It’s nice to find a blog that is a combination educated/sciencey (is that a word?) and practical “feed the family” focused. I have struggled with weight issues all my life and have read a million books on nutrition, before I found paleo. I’ve dropped 50 pounds now, and still have 70 to go. I love paleo, it is definitely the way that works best for my body.
I am a sugar addict so I have to avoid sugar and honey, but it makes sense that you don’t since you are feeding little kids. My 17 yo son rarely eats what I make so I don’t take him into account when I am cooking. (I did for years, but I have given up.) He is very picky, and is a natural “intermittant faster.” I just enjoy the fact he will probably never have a weight problem!
Thank you for your blog. From what I have read it sounds like we have a lot in common, and I appreciate the time and energy it must take to put out this blog.
I follow your RSS feed. This looks like a fun giveaway.
I follow you on FB and am so grateful for your details about the autoimmune protocol. We share a very similar background. Thank you for all you do and for this opportunity!
I get your e-mail posts. And already followed your AIP board but now follow all your boards on Pinterest under Susan Jonell Roragen. And I LOVE Tropical Traditions!
Thank you for doing all the hard work for me. I am inspired by your dedication and creativity. Your blog is a joy.

I have been following you on FB, Twitter, and Pinterest, and receiving your posts by email. I share a lot of your articles with my parents (my dad is a retired RD & my mom is interested in Paleo) especially the ones on the gut that you wrote earlier this year. Just found you through this page: http://www.thepaleomom.com/tag/leaky-gut by Googling “Effects of foods chosen by lectin content on intestinal permeability”. You’re my hero! THANK YOU for presenting the research and journal article references in line with your blog posts! I can’t wait to see what you have coming up this year.
I’m actually also really excited about this giveaway because I just went to TT’s website earlier today to see what products I might be interested in, and then I saw you were doing this giveaway! I hope to get to try TT’s coconut oil and cream concentrate and flour sooner rather than later! Blessings,

I love you and share you wherever and whenever I can, but the best place I’m going to be sharing you this week is with my husband, who is very skeptical about the AIP helping me with my Hashi’s and Narcolepsy. I have dabbled a bit with it, and need to do this to get my life back. Love you!!!
